Boats of Fortune

As we lie on the sands of time,
We have no thoughts to bother us;
For the changes that we overcome,
Will help us build a brighter future.

Our children will help us behold,
A brighter tomorrow to come.

Let us hope that todays are stronger,
Our children will be stronger than us,
And help us overcome the vagaries of nature.

Hi Swati,

I started a blog for the first time yesterday and am glad to come across your blog of your poems. I like the few that I have read and like your optimisim and the hope that you place on children for the future.

I am also a mother and I have a full-time job but I have always wanted to write and I also harbour a wish to become an artist although this will be harder to achieve as painting is something that I cannot handle with a full-time job and a family to take care of.

One day I hope to be able to devote my time to pursue my two dreams as a writer and artist. Meanwhile, I'll just carry on and make decisions along the way.

Once more, I would like to say that I enjoy your writing and will return to your blog now and then.

Cheers!
